Thought some of you might find this useful, a Reddit user by the name of lunch77 has been making a ton of really amazing free drumkits using actual samples and one shots from some of the biggest names in music right now, I’ve downloaded almost every single one of them and can say with confidence that these are very useful and a no brainer given that they’re free!!
Click on his posts and you’ll see a list of everything:

No idea if you have to register or not, I’ve had a Reddit account for as long as I can remember so I’m not sure, but all drumkits are labeled by the producer/artist it’s based off of so they’ll be easy to find

I think you have to start at the front page (www.reddit.com) state that you're 18 and over, and then you can access the link (worked for me).

I logged on (no registration) then downloaded one random kit (F1lthy kit). I like it.
@KEM could you recommend a rock, metal or unique kit that stood out for you.
Edit: Nevermind KEM I see the link with kits by drummer name. Not sure what page I first landed on. We are cool.

There aren’t really any rock/metal kits but you could surely use any of them in that context and make something unique with them!! My personal favorites are the Kanye West and Mike Dean kits, both are amazing and I still can’t believe that I now have the exact sounds that were used on classic Kanye songs…

Anytime! I hope everyone goes ahead and downloads some, I’d have paid good money for these, especially the Kanye kit, and the fact that they’re free I don’t see any reason NOT to have them

Indeed. My plans today including downloading the Kanye then off to explore.
I have Synclavier's resynthesis engine to work these samples; but, I am curious to know what's your preferred engine to feed these wavs into.
Thanks, Bill

I either put them directly into the project as audio (kicks, snares, claps, etc.) or I load them into the stock Cubase sampler (808s, hihats, anything that will be changing actual notes)
Most of the time I just go with the stock sampler since I already have them opened and ready to go in my template, but if I’m only using a sound like once or twice that’s when I’ll just throw the audio straight in

Thanks, your data got me started.
In case there are other newbs (like me) to using such drumkits, I found this Reaper video also helpful as orientation.
Yesterday I downloaded then explored two of Lunch77's drum kits (F1lthy + Wheezy) using the link above. Unique, wild sounds; some overlap sound-wise but not a lot.
I like your idea on using a template. For fun, I plan to create a Young Wheezy kit template as a go-to. Cheers, Bill

Make sure to download the Kanye kit!! It has some absolute gems in there, his Yeezus album is actually the reason I started making music in the first place, and there are quite a few sounds from the album in there, never thought in a million years I’d be able to have any of the real samples used on Yeezus, that’s something I would’ve paid top dollar for!!

Thanks KEM. I was unable to get the reddit links for the Kanye kit to work no matter what I did ("failed download").
Take a look at this link and let me know if this drum kit matches what you have from Lunch77. It has the same name but no mention of Lunch77.
I downloaded and scanned for viruses (OK per Windows Defender); so, I am mostly curious if this is the same material you have at your end.
Best, Bill

That's the link I was unable to get to download. Tried using IE and Google Chrome = no go.
Does this content list from the other link I got to work, match up to your KW kit:
- 26 Bass Samples
- 22 FX
- 29 Guitar Samples
- 44 Hi Hats
- 2 Horn Hits
- 3 Keyboard samples
- 126 Kicks
- 40 Percs
- 6 Piano samples
- 2 Shakers
- 121 Snares
- 95 Wav Vinyl Keys
- 5 Violin samples
BTW inability to download this library may be a local server/Canada issue. Had no probs with F1lthy and Wheezy kits.
