Summer 2022 Anime Premieres Release Schedule - Anime Corner (2024)

As the Spring 2022 anime season comes to a close, the Summer season begins with premieres of sequels and new anime. There are also some continuations from the previous season, such as A Couple of Cuckoos, but this article only contains information about Summer 2022 anime season premieres.

We’ve included tables with times (in hours and minutes) and dates (in the heading) for when the series premieres in Japan. Some of these may not be licensed, so you may not be able to watch them on legal streaming platforms. However, if a series is available on platforms such as Crunchyroll or HiDIVE, it will typically be released within an hour or two of the Japanese broadcast.

Our time zones differ because we are all from different countries. If it’s morning in Japan, it could be night at your location. To establish a baseline, we used UTC+0 (Coordinated Universal Time) as the default time zone for determining when the series would premiere. If you know your country’s UTC difference (which could be UTC+05:00 or UTC-05:00), you can simply add or subtract the hours and minutes from the UTC time shown in the tables below to convert it to your time zone.

With that out of the way, let’s see what anime premieres on which date and at what time this season.

July 01, 2022 Anime Premieres

The season will begin with one of the most anticipated sequels for Rent-a-Girlfriend. The series has sold over 10 million copies, proving that fans enjoy it. This season, it will be available for legal streaming on Crunchyroll.

A-1 Pictures’ original animes Lycoris Recoil and Engage Kiss have fans excited for their premieres. It’ll be interesting to see which of these performs better than the other this season.

Classroom of the Elite will have not only a second, but also a third season; however, only the second season will air this year, with the third set to premiere sometime next year. The second season will be animated by studio Lerche, and we can’t wait to see what Ayanokouji is up to.

Season 4 of the Overlord series was announced in May 2021, nearly four years after the premiere of the third season. Fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of Ainz’s story, and so are we. It will be available for legal streaming on Crunchyroll.

The strangeness of anime titles is part of the appeal, and when you read something like “My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex,” you can’t help but be intrigued. If you haven’t already seen the trailers, you can do so here.

Aside from that, Kinema Citrus is animating the sequel to Made In Abyss, with the original cast returning. It will undoubtedly be a thrilling watch. HIDIVE has licensed the series, and you can support its official release by streaming it on their platform.

If all new shows were to premiere on the same day and you could only watch one, it should have to be Call of the Night. You can view the trailer for it here if you haven’t already. The series will be available on HIDIVE for streaming.

We don’t have No Game No Life this season, but we do have the sequel to The Devil is a Part-Timer. The news of a sequel after 9 years was certainly unexpected, and hopefully we’ll have a lot to look forward to. The premiere is only a few days away.
